About Us
Buzzard Jive is run by husband and wife team Shan and Anne.
They are both qualified under United Kingdom Alliance of Professional Teachers Of Dancing and members of the LeRoc Federation.
Anne has a lifelong passion for dancing having started at the age of 3. This has covered a variety of styles of dancing.
Shan was a late starter in the world of dance and joined Anne on the dance floor in 2003. He became totally addicted from his first lesson and hasn't looked back since.
Both Shan and Anne enjoy sharing their passion for modern jive and love sharing their knowledge and experience with others.

A typical evening at Buzzard Jive
The evening starts with a beginner class lasting approximately 45 minutes. During this class we will teach you a four move routine which will be broken down move by move and each move will be taught step by step.
This will be followed by approximately half an hour freestyle.
Then we move into a fun/intermediate class where a more challeging routine will be taught. The class is still suitable for everyone as beginners can join in and have some fun while more experienced dancers can use these moves to add to their freestyle reportoire.
The rest of the evening continues with more freestyle where everyone dances the night away to a wide variety of good music until 10.30.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a partner ? No there are always single people both men and women at the classes and everyone is happy to dance with anyone even if they have their own partner.
What is freestyle ? Freestyle is your opportunity to dance to various styles of music and and have fun. Freestyle really speeds up your dancing ability. In freestyle the lights go down and the disco lights go on to give more of a club atmosphere.
What if I miss a week ? It doesn't matter if you miss a week as you cannot fall behind due to the way the classes are structured.
How quickly will I learn ? Everyone learns at a different pace. The way the lessons are taught will allow even the newest dancer to be able to dance by the end of the evening.
Do I have to pay for each lesson ? No you pay for the whole evening which incudes both classes and both sets of freestyle.
